Get Involved

Bring your time, skills, network, or encouragement into the welcome.

Integration happens faster when new residents and long-term neighbors build everyday connections together. There is room to contribute whether you can support one conversation circle each month or help open doors across schools, workplaces, and community spaces in Gävle.

Why it matters

Small local actions reduce isolation, build confidence, and create practical pathways into daily life.

Our participants often need more than information. They need trusted people who can explain systems, share local knowledge, and make community life feel accessible. Volunteers and partners help turn first introductions into lasting belonging.

Volunteer

Support language circles and welcome sessions

Facilitate conversation practice, greet participants, help with childcare during meetings, or assist families during orientation events.

Mentor

Share professional experience and local know-how

Offer guidance on CVs, interviews, workplace culture, or navigating education and training routes in Sweden.

Host

Open a space or co-organize an event

Libraries, schools, civic groups, and neighborhood initiatives can host workshops, family activities, or resource-sharing evenings.

Partner

Connect opportunities, services, and networks

Employers, educators, and community organizations can collaborate on referrals, practical workshops, sponsorships, and local outreach.

Every kind of contribution strengthens the circle of support.

2 hrs a month can support one recurring activity
1:1 mentoring can unlock confidence and direction
1 room can host language practice for dozens of neighbors
1 intro can connect families to schools, services, or jobs
100% community-powered and relationship-led
Who can help

You do not need to be an expert. Reliability, warmth, and curiosity matter most.

We welcome students, retirees, professionals, parents, and community-minded neighbors. Swedish, English, Arabic, Dari, Somali, and other language skills are valuable, but being present and respectful is just as important.

We match volunteers and partners to roles that fit their time, experience, and comfort level.

What to expect

A simple onboarding process with clear support.

You will receive a conversation with our team, practical guidance about the role, and a clear point of contact before joining activities.
